A few days after 2015 Topps Series 1 was released I finally purchased my first jumbo value pack at Wal-Mart. Being the first pack I needed all of the 31 base set and five insert cards in the pack. This brings my percentage of the complete base set to 8.9%

So nothing too spectacular in pack #1, but it’s a good start. I was able to pull the 2015 Topps Series 1 cover athlete, OF Yasiel Puig of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Included in pack #1 were nine All-Stars from 2014, P Jordan Zimmermann (#38) of the Washington Nationals, C Salvador Perez (#39) of the Kansas City Royals, 3B Todd Frazier (#42) of the Cincinnati Reds, 1B Freddie Freeman (#73) of the Atlanta Braves, P Greg Holland (#216) of the Kansas City Royals, P Zack Greinke (#267) of the Los Angeles Dodgers, SS Erick Aybar (#299) of the Los Angeles Angels, P Felix Hernandez (#325) of the Seattle Mariners, and OF Yasiel Puig (#350) of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Being a San Francisco Giants fan, I always like seeing their cards in packs I buy, P Santiago Casilla (#156) and 3B Joaquin Arias (#299) as well as the Archetype insert of Willie Mays (A-23). Only one rookie card in the first pack, P Matt Barnes (#335) of the Boston Red Sox. The Future Stars subset is back and there were two, SS Chris Owings (#63) of the Arizona Diamondbacks and P Andrew Heaney (#147) of the Miami Marlins. Included with the previous insert of Willie Mays there was also First Home Run (Silver Stripe parallel) of Yoenis Cespedes (FHR-31), First Pitch of Biz Markie (FP-05), Robbed of Carlos Gomez (#R-4), and The Babe Ruth Story – The Called Shot (#BR-9).
