Jumbo Value Pack #3 – “Mad Bum”, Rookies, and Doubles

227_madison_bumgarner_world_series_highlight_1 The 3rd Jumbo Value Pack had a few themes, first pack with doubles (Michael Wacha, Pittsburgh Pirates Team Card, Cincinnati Reds Team Card, and Felix Hernandez), about three times as many rookies as in previous two packs (Kendall Graveman, Bryce Brentz, Rusney Castillo, Brandon Finnegan, and Bryan Mitchell), and my first World Series Highlight card (Madison Bumgarner – 2014 World Series Game 5).

The front of the Madison Bumgarner card has him walking off the field tipping his hat to the San Francisco Giants fans. The back has the boxscore to the Giants 5-0 win over the Kansas City Royals in Game 5 of the World Series and a quick recap of the situation.

“In the bottom of the eighth, Bumgarner moved to the on-deck circle, and the fans at AT&T Park knew they were about to see something special. He went on to finish the first complete-game World Series shutout since 2003. Madison fanned eight and walked none in the four-hitter”

In addition to the World Series Highlight featuring Madison Bumgarner, there was one other Giant, Brandon Hicks (#273).

Included were two All-Stars from 2014, Adrian Beltre (#175) of the Texas Rangers and Tony Watson (#146) of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

This pack contained 27 base cards and four inserts that I needed for my 2015 Topps Series 1 collection. It also contained my first Babe Ruth Call Your Shot scratch-off card.

nno2_call_your_shot_scratch_offThe 36th card in the pack was a Call Your Shot Scrath-Off game card. You choose one of the three scratch-offs,; Autograph, Autograph Relic, or Entry. You then log-on to the Topps website (www.topps.com/promotions) and enter the code to see if you won. I have not heard many good things about the chances, with some people scratching off 20+ cards and no winners. Others who have won say the shipping costs you have to pay or more than the card they won was worth. I will give it a shot soon!

Thanks for stopping by!
