I have some catching up to do so here is my second jumbo value pack, I bought this pack over a month ago! After breaking open the pack I was pleased to find no doubles, I needed all 31 base set cards, two parallels, and three inserts.
The highlight for me was C Buster Posey (#275), all decked out in his catchers gear with the appearance he is looking a runner back to a base? In addition to Posey, San Francisco Giants teammates’ P Tim Lincecum (#138) and C Andrew Susac (#232) were also in the pack.
This pack was loaded with some nice cards. Included were eight more All-Stars from 2014, 1B Brandon Moss (#35) of the Oakland Athletics, SS Alexei Ramirez (#65) of the Chicago White Sox, P Adam Wainwright (#80) of the St. Louis Cardinals, OF Giancarlo Stanton (#150) of the Miami Marlins, 2B Chase Utley (#163) of the Philadelphia Phillies, 1B Jose Abreu (#176) of the Chicago White Sox, C Devin Mesoraco (#182) of the Cincinnati Reds, and 3B Matt Carpenter (#336) of the St. Louis Cardinals.
I have always been a fan of the Topps All-Star Rookie subset and my first one is a nice one, 1B Jose Abreu (#176). He also is part of the “Future Stars” subset.
Rookie cards were almost non-existent in this pack, with only 2B Dilson Herrera (#241) of the New York Mets.
The parallels included a Rainbow Foil (1:10) and a Gold Border (#/2015 / 1:6). The Rainbow Foil was veteran 1B Ryan Howard (#51) of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Gold Border parallel was OF Khris Davis (#115) (0779/2015) of the Milwaukee Brewers.
The three inserts were pretty good also! I think anytime you can pull a Nolan Ryan (Free Agent 40) or Babe Ruth (Highlight of the Year) card today it is a good day, add to that young superstar in Yasiel Puig (First Home Run – Silver Stripe).
